This Queen Anne Victorian home, built in 1892, is constantly undergoing careful renovations and updates. It features eight guestrooms, zoned heating, a wraparound porch with rockers, bicycles, piano, and wireless DSL. The third floor has a common area with a kitchenette. A full breakfast is served at the inn complete with juice, coffee, fruit, an egg dish, and breakfast meat. The inn also serves afternoon tea/coffee, and has an evening reception. On site amenities include purified water, laundry facilities, ice machine, and free local calls. The inn is 1.5 hours from St. Louis and 3.5 hours from Chicago O'Hare Airport. The architectural lines of each room feature gabled ceilings and beveled windows that are original to the Market Street Inn. All rooms have a private bath, air conditioning, alarm clock radio, bathrobes, cable TV, CD player, ceiling fan, telephone with free local calls, and Internet access.
