This historic Queen Anne Victorian home, built in 1896, is on the National Register of Historic Places. The owners' passion for preservation comes across in every detail of the inn. The cottage decor has been carefully designed so as to preserve the historical atmosphere.
The inn features air conditioning, central heating as well as fireplaces and all of the comforts of a modern day home. On the carriage house level, where the rooms open into a garden, the original tile floors are still in existence. The inn features a common library, sitting room, fireplaces, outdoor pool (open from June through August, complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and gift shop. A wide veranda equipped with rocking chairs invites guests to enjoy a summer's evening. A romantic candlelit dinner prepared by a awarding winning chef is available. This unique quaint setting with trestle bridges is perfect for nature walks.
To help keep the delicate historic atmosphere of the house, fourteen original Victorian claw foot tubs were found, and they now outfit most of the private baths in the guestrooms. Each guestroom is accented by soft colors that create a old world ambience. All guestrooms have a unique name and decor, from the Woodhaven Room to the Strawberry Fields Room. Some rooms have fireplaces and canopy beds.
